Heat unveil Vice-themed uniforms and they are very Miami

HOUSTON — Want a uniform to represent Miami’s vibrant and colorful reputation?

You’re going to love the Heat’s new Nike “City Edition” uniforms. The Heat unveiled the Miami Vice-themed uniform that includes jerseys with pink, black and powder blue accents on Tuesday, and it didn’t disappoint.

The Heat will debut the new look Thursday when they take on the Sacramento Kings at AmericanAirlines Arena. In addition, a full Miami Vice-themed Heat merchandise line, which includes t-shirts and hats, will be available to the public starting at midnight.

The uniform features the word “Miami” written in the original Miami Arena script across the chest and it’s “inspired by Heat history and Miami in the 1980s.”

According to Nike, the “City Edition” uniforms are meant to “represent insights and emotion from the court to the upper deck to the cities’ streets, in pursuit of a unique way to capture each team and its city in a way that respects the past and present of the clubs while also positioning them for the future.”

The Heat will sport this very Miami look in 15 games — Thursday: vs. Sacramento Kings, Saturday: vs. Chicago Bulls, Monday: at Dallas Mavericks, Feb. 5: vs. Orlando Magic, Feb. 7: vs. Houston Rockets, Feb. 9: vs. Milwaukee Bucks, Feb. 13: at Toronto Raptors, Feb. 14: at Philadelphia 76ers, Feb. 23: at New Orleans Pelicans, Feb. 24: vs. Memphis Grizzlies, Feb. 27: vs. Philadelphia 76ers, March 1: vs. LA Lakers, March 3: vs. Detroit Pistons, March 5: vs. Phoenix Suns, March 8: vs. Philadelphia 76ers.
