LeBron James considers teaming with Dwyane Wade again

This comes from a man who has quite a good handle on how anything he says or does will be received by the public: LeBron James is talking openly about playing with former Heat teammate Dwyane Wade again.

He also wants to include Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul and is willing to give up millions of dollars to do it.

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together,” James told Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck last month for a story published today. “At least one, maybe one or two seasons —- me, Melo, D-Wade, CP —- we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that.”

Maybe at the end of their careers, James said. Maybe sooner. One more ring chase, this time with everyone on board.

“It would be pretty cool,” James said. “I’ve definitely had thoughts about it.”

Before bounding away, he smiles and closes with a coy chirp: “We’ll see.”

It’s hard to see exactly how that would happen, specifically as it applies to James and Wade. Wade seems highly unlikely to play anywhere but Miami, meaning James would probably have to make amends with the Heat to put this dream together. That might be tough.

“I don’t know, man,” Wade said of the story tonight. “Yeah, I heard it. I read it. I’m not really jumping into the headlines right now. For me, I’m focused on my teammates in here. As cool as the headlines is, that has nothing to do with what we’re trying to do in here.”

The other issue, though it might not matter to them, is that group might not be so great by the time they make it happen. All four of those players are over 30 as it is.
