MIAMI – The Heat had everything going in their favor Thursday: The unveiling of the new Vice uniforms, playing their best basketball of the season over the last month and hosting the worst team in the NBA.
What did that add up to? An inexplicable 89-88 loss to the lowly Sacramento Kings that had several players questioning their effort and coach Erik Spoelstra wondering what happened to their fourth-quarter execution after being outscored 17-4 in the final six minutes.
Still, the Heat (27-21) are hanging onto the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, though there is not much breathing room when they look at the teams behind them. Anthony Chiang and I talked about this ugly loss along with Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press on our Facebook Live Video, which can be found on the Post on Miami Heat page.
