The Heat began the week with the NBA’s second-worst record.

Three wins later, Miami (14-30) is still the second-worst team (record-wise). But a three-game winning streak has some Heat fans worrying it’s going to hurt the team’s spot in the NBA Draft lottery this summer.

What will wins get the Heat this season?

Well, Miami is 7.5 games back of the Chicago Bulls, which current hold the Eastern Conference’s final playoff spot as the No. 8 seed. That’s not exactly close, but that’s not out of reach either.

What will losses get the Heat this season?

Probably a high first-round pick in this year’s loaded NBA Draft. Some will argue that’s more valuable than making a late run to sneak into the playoffs.

This conundrum has the Heat fan base confused. Some are happy when Miami wins, some are happy when Miami loses.
