MIAMI – The Miami Heat have lost 105 games entering tonight due to injuries this season. Now they will have lost one because of illness.
Tyler Johnson will miss tonight’s game against the Clippers because he is sick. Coach Erik Spoelstra said Johnson wasn’t feeling well during Wednesday’s game against the Pacers. He then missed Thursday’s practice.
“He was actually playing sick the other night and from that game it wiped him out,” Spoelstra said.
Johnson has missed one other game this season because of having dental work done after he had a tooth knocked out during a game.
Additionally, Dion Waiters (groin) will miss his 11th straight game. After tonight’s game the Heat will have lost 108 games because of injury or illness, including Chris Bosh (blood clots) missing the entire season.
Johnson has been invaluable off the bench, averaging 13.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.1 assist. He leads the NBA in fourth quarter minutes and has played all 12 minutes of the fourth quarter in each of the last seven games.
