Dwyane Wade’s return to Miami was well-documented.
The 12-time All-Star played his first game at AmericanAirlines Arena as a visiting player on Nov. 10 after spending the first 13 seasons of his NBA career in a Heat uniform. The Bulls, Wade’s new team, defeated the Heat 98-95.
But we got a different perspective of Wade’s return to Miami in the second episode of his video series for uninterrupted.com titled “FLASH3ACK | Moments.” The five-minute episode followed Wade around on the day of his return from his house in Miami to AmericanAirlines Arena.
“Walking through the doors of my house, it smells like home and it feels like home,” Wade said in the video. “I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying just being home and having the opportunity to take a moment to think of everything and just like the 13 years and where I am now. I’m proud. I’m just proud of where I am.”
One of the most interesting parts of the episode came when Wade was being driven to the arena. It showed Wade watching his own Heat highlights (with Carol City rapper Rick Ross’s “Push It” as the song paired with this particular highlight package, of course) on his phone.
“What I’m doing today is not my usual pregame routine,” Wade said. “But I also just want to enjoy being here because I only come once this year.”
As Wade pulled up to AmericanAirlines Arena, he asked a question.
“If there are 20,000 fans in here tonight, how many Wade jerseys do you think we’re going to see?” Wade asked in the video.
