One of the Heat’s inroads with Kevin Durant is that he shares an agency with Justise Winslow. They began developing a friendship back when Durant was in college, and Winslow has access to him as he hits free agency.
Both of them are represented by Roc Nation Sports, though they have different agents. Winslow, who employs Joe Branch, has been playfully prodding Durant’s agent, Rich Kleiman.
“I’ve messed with his agent, joking with him,” Winslow said during an appearance at the Heat’s summer basketball camp at South Broward High School this afternoon. “He’s a good guy. Rich Kleiman and KD are gonna make the best decision for KD. I haven’t started publicly recruiting anybody yet, but I might in the next couple days.”
How much of a friendship do Winslow and Durant have?
“A little bit,” Winslow said. “Watching him play at (Texas), meeting him when he was there and through my agency, but through basketball you meet different guys. He’s not a guy I talk to every day, but if I ever needed advice or anything, I could hit him up and he’d be open to talking to me.”
Maybe he’s open to receiving advice as well.
