Dwyane Wade might be just as excited about a Heat-Cavaliers showdown in the Eastern Conference finals as LeBron James is, but he isn’t talking about it.

James said today he’s been thinking about the potential clash with his former team, though both sides still have substantial work to do to get there. Miami and Cleveland were up 1-0 in their second-round series after the Heat’s overtime win in Toronto on Tuesday.

“It’d be great to play against those guys in the postseason,” said James, who added that it’s been on his mind since he left the Heat in 2014. “Throughout my whole career, I’ve always wanted to go against Wade in a playoff series. We’ve always talked about it even before we became teammates in 2010.

“It’s not been heavy on my mind, but it’s crossed my mind throughout my whole career.”

Wade was asked about those comments after the Heat’s practice this afternoon and little interest in discussing them.

“You talk to me after we get four wins in this series,” he said. “Then I’ll answer that question.”
