Luol Deng (thigh injury) expected to play vs. Orlando Magic

After missing the Heat’s loss to San Antonio on Wednesday to recover from a bruised left thigh, Luol Deng seemed optimistic about playing against the Magic on Friday.

Coach Erik Spoelstra is optimistic, too. Spoelstra said Friday morning he anticipates Deng will play against Orlando after he participated in Miami’s shootaround.

“We’ll see how he feels ultimately tonight,” Spoelstra said.

The injury has bothered Deng since a collision with Charlotte’s Marvin Williams on March 17. Deng has scored eight points on 2-of-10 shooting over his last two games since suffering the injury.
