Goran Dragic on failed dunk attempt: “It was a flat tire” (video)

Goran Dragic hasn’t dunked since joining the Heat last February, and that somehow remains true tonight despite the most open 1-on-0 fastbreak in world history.

Early in the fourth quarter of tonight’s 122-101 thrashing of the Cavaliers, Dragic picked off a Matthew Dellavedova pass and had nothing but space in front of him once he crossed halfcourt. No one from Cleveland bothered to challenge as he raced ahead.

Finally, this was his moment. But, well, you can watch the video here:

The bench leapt to its feet hoping to see him finally slam one and ended up barely able to stay on their feet because they were laughing so hard.

“I lost the ball in the middle of it,” he said. “I was thinking to dunk, but I just didn’t get it. It was a flat tire. I was relieved when I saw the ball went in.”

Has he given up?

“No, no, no,” Dragic said. “We’ve still got 13 games left. We’ll see.”
