The Heat and guard Beno Udrih are close to a deal to buyout the remainder of Udrih’s contract, according to Yahoo’s The Vertical.

The deal would clear salary pace for Joe Johnson, who the Heat signed Friday. Udrih suffered a season-ending foot injury Wednesday.

Yahoo reported Miami representatives approached Udrih about the buyout last week. The 33-year-old guard, who Miami acquired in November, averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 assists in 16.3 minutes per game off the bench for the Heat.
